Rhodes has started pre-orders for the Stage 61, a compact, fully passive 61-key tine piano that embodies the classic Rhodes touch and sound.
Inspired by the iconic Rhodes pianos of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and early ‘80s. The Stage 61 will make its powerful debut at NAMM 2025. This groundbreaking instrument is built for both touring musicians and studio environments, and preorders will open tomorrow, March 25. To celebrate this launch, Rhodes is offering a special Launch Edition, limited to only 61 units worldwide.
The Stage 61 is the latest evolution of Rhodes’ handcrafted instruments, following the acclaimed MK8 piano from 2021. Designed for playability and portability, it combines a sleek, classic look with modern functionality. Featuring a 61-key Kluge Klaviaturen keybed, the Stage 61 operates on passive circuitry, requiring no external power while providing an authentic analog signal. Musicians will enjoy the intuitive volume and tone controls, along with a single jack output for easy connection to amplifiers, DI boxes, or preamps.
Weighing in at just 59 pounds, the Stage 61 stands as the most compact and portable Rhodes model ever produced. With many more impressive features packed into this stage piano, it’s clear that Rhodes is setting a new standard in the industry. Let’s see what the Chief Product Officer of Rhodes has to say about this exciting launch.
“The new Rhodes Stage-61 perfectly embodies the classic Rhodes Stage tone, now housed in a compact and portable retro-future shell designed by Axel Hartmann. Utilising the same (Kluge) keyboard, precision components, and technology found in our flagship MK8 tine piano, it’s the ideal choice for both stage and studio performers alike.” – Dan Goldman, Chief Product Officer at Rhodes Music,
