New from Soundtoys: SpaceBlender Plugin Now Free for a Limited Time

Soundtoys SpaceBlender has officially been released, A new retro-futuristic reverb plugin, which is available as a free download until May 22, 2025. Let’s explore this plugin more below.

Soundtoys introduced SpaceBlender at NAMM 2025, and after several months, the effects developer has officially launched it. Described as an “imaginary space machine,” SpaceBlender is an experimental reverb that combines a unique and innovative approach inspired by the tape looping techniques of pioneering ambient musicians, while also nodding to vintage digital reverbs such as the Lexicon 224, Ursa Major Space Station, and Eventide.

SpaceBlender is designed to create unreal and imaginary spaces, shapes, textures, and tones. The plugin features a Time knob, a Color control, a Texture setting, a Mod control, and a mix knob for easy use. The Time knob allows you to set the reverb length from 100 ms to a full minute. In Sync mode, it locks to your track’s tempo, while the Colour control lets you dial in darker lo-fi effects or brighten the reverb over time. The Texture control adjusts the character of SpaceBlender, allowing for smooth, lush reverb, and the Mod control fine-tunes the depth of its lush, chorus-like modulation effect.

SpaceBlender sets itself apart from traditional reverb plugins by avoiding feedback delay networks and convolution. Instead, it utilizes a cutting-edge algorithm inspired by swarm synthesis. Soundtoys emphasizes that this is not just another reverb; it’s a powerful sound design tool for creating unique spaces and effects. Perfect for experimentation with vocals, guitars, and synths, SpaceBlender is the ideal choice for producers seeking depth and dimension in their sound. Check out the preset demo by Soundtoys below.
