Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3 Is Finally Here: What’s New After 10 Years of Waiting.

Spectrasonics finally announced the launch of Omnisphere 3 with a lot of new sounds, filters and several new features. Let’s explore it more.

Omnisphere, one of the most powerful synths used by the legends on their tracks, from the French duo Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, to Martin Garrix and more. Not only how powerful this plugin powerful, but the sounds, library, and interface make this a versatile plugin that fits in almost all genres. The last version of Spectrasonics Omnisphere came a decade ago. This October 16th, the founder of Spectrasonics, Eric Persing, announced the launch of Omnisphere 3.

The Omnisphere 3 came with 18 new libraries, from analog to electronic, all one can require to create a masterpiece. There are a lot of new features that we are going to explore below.

What’s new in Omnisphere 3:

1. New Sound Library:

There are more than 40,000+ sounds in 18 curated libraries created by Spectrasonics sound designers. It contains a massive sound selection from libraries such as retro vibes to club land that covers almost all your needs creatively as well as effectively. All the original classic Omnisphere patches have been remastered with all-new lossless optimization. You can explore the libraries here.

2. New FX Units:

This time, Spectrasonics has added 35 FX units, making it a total of more than 90 effect units. These units include emulations of Roland, Universal Audio as well as Teletronix’s LA series. You can also use these FX units directly in DAWs as a standalone FX plugin. This makes Omnisphere 3 a new, versatile plugin in every producer’s plugin library.

3. New Workflow and Controls:

In terms of workflow and controls, Spectrasonics introduced a new Adaptive global control that allows you to tweak tonal aspects such as Tone, ambience, filter and more in a patch.
Mutation – A feature that allows you to create variations of any patch with one click.
Lastly, the Browser lets you scope to explore new sounds effortlessly.

4. Hardware Integration:

This is one of the best updates, in my opinion. The hardware integration, which now supports over 300 new profiles from 36 major manufacturers, includes hardware such as MIDI controllers as well as Synthesizers. It also now supports Full MPE, which makes the process of making music more creative. And if you’re a live performer, that’s a jackpot for you.


Compatibility and Pricing:

Omnisphere 3 is available from October 21st 2025. You’ll need at least 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage with a 2.4 GHz or faster processor, although I recommend using 16 GB RAM for a better experience.
